I just had the worst nightmare of my life thus far.

It started out in math class and ended with cannibal/zombie children killing my wife and baby. Along the way I had to kill a zombie rat with my bare hand. Did I mention it was my cowardice that got my wife and baby killed?

Gah! Dear subconscious, there are much nicer ways of getting a message across.

Dude, I haven't even been watching horror movies! But I did use this as an excuse to make myself pancakes. They turned out really well. No more cannibal zombie children. I won't allow it!

*hug* Nightmares suck. I'm so sorry your head's been a scary place. What can we do to make it better?

I'm almost *more* irritated that I know where all the pieces of my dream came from than that I had it: feeling emotionally unsafe at work, fears about being able to support a mythical future family emotionally, and the evolving realization that the places/things I used to draw on for (ultimately unhealthy) comfort aren't going to work out for me anymore.

Damn it! Why can't I live in blissful ignorance of the inner workings of my mind?

I just need time. And possibly some reassurance that cannibal/zombies are unlikely to desire the flesh of their parents and then that of my future partner and little babe. *headdesk*

Wife got killed - but that's ME!!! *horrors!*

No, wait. I have no baby. Or rather, my babies are bigger than me, and would have wasted that zombie with their superior karate moves.

Must have been some other wife of yours...

How many wives do you have, anyway?
