Who wants to bring boxes?
Feb. 9th, 2007 04:15 amI officially have a place to live!
I found a room in a house in SE Portland. I begin the move in process next weekend. I'll be living with three nerds. Two of which are married PSU students. The third is a chimney sweep. And looks like one.
The room is small but super cheap. Bigger than one of my dorm rooms though so I should be able to handle it.
I'll be living with three dogs all of whom seem pretty high energy. I like dogs, but I'll have to get used to the non-mellowness.
Because of the awkward shape of the room I could really only fit a twin sized bed in there. A full sized futon would fit, but not my bed. And I can't sleep for long on a futon. So! The only twin sized mattress around here is as hard as a rock and makes baby Jesus cry. I had a good talk with Adults about how you shouldn't really buy furniture you don't like until you know you will be staying somewhere for quite a while. I don't like twin sized beds. They make me feel like the possibility for a cuddle has gone down by a factor of large. The end result of this ramble?
I will be sleeping on an XXL Foof Chair. This is a great day in the world of Susan. I've slept on them before and it's like Christmas. Laugh all you want but it's a Susan sized nest of lovely.
I also think I've got a job doing in home caregiving. It would work around school and pay me enough to live on (ish) considering all my school will be paid for in loans. If my references check out (and there's no reason they shouldn't) I'm in.
It is a good day to be Susan.
P.S. I'm moving on the weekend of the 17th. Anyone want to help me move stuff in exchange for booze? (Don't look at me like that, I'm working 8 days in a row then moving on my two days off. I'm gonna need a celebration.)
