The Oregon Supreme just announced that the homosexual marriages that took place in Multnomah county are no longer legal.

Fuck. You.

So many people were hurt by the decision. I have spent hours trying to sort through all of my emotions about this. I had someone tell me that this doesn't effect me. I nearly punched him. I know people who were married there. I saw the looks on their faces when they showed me their wedding rings. This effects everyone.

Way to go, Oregon. You've crushed people's spirits and broken their hearts. The world doesn't need more hate. From this point on I'm not going to focus on the anger, but try to support others who have just had their lives ripped apart. Again.

I think many people are insecure and afraid. And I know that's a lousy reason, and nothing like an excuse, but it's reality. What seems to help is a combination of education and exposure. If there are no black, gay, Jewish, whatever people where you grow up, you're more likely to be afraid of that (especially if everyone else is the same way). So, gradually...little by little...we make progress. You're a darling.

Yeah... some of the classes are around IB work load and stress level. Most of them are actually a little more. You spend less time in class and more time out of class working on stuff. But next fall I am taking the second of two bitch classes from hell. I have to write 5 twenty page papers, all of them research based so I have to collect the data, learn the computer program to compute the data, make 5-10 charts and graphs for the different variables etc. And this is a one semester course. I miss IB.

But you work your way up to the bitch classes from hell and everyone suffers in beautiful harmony together. And then there is the fun and parties. Nerdy nerdy parties.

wow. i had no idea that had happened. well, oregon isnt the only stupid place...they are fighting it here in spain too...and we are very open minded here. there are lots of people that want it to be taken back...but for now we are hoping that the marraiges stay legal.
