My weekend and slavery.
Apr. 17th, 2005 07:03 pmI have good friends. Besides the fact that
elvensorceress has been putting up with the fact that I have been almost completely MIA this week, I got some good time in with the fearless duo of John and Dawn.
I have not played video games (with a mild two hour exception of Mario Party a few years ago) since I was 7. I *almost* beat the first castle where you meet Bowser in Super Mario Brothers one on Original Nintendo. But no more! I have been introduced to Final Fantasy X. It is beautiful and happy.Even if I keep running into walls all the time and still lack anything remotely close to skill. John is a wonderful teacher.
I have two shopping lists. One is very boring and consists of things like batteries and a hair claw. The other is "things Susan really wants but is not going to buy because she is poor and needs other things more." It is also my wish list and rewards list.
I feel like sharing it.
1. Vienna Teng CD, Waking Hour. (I am in love with her music.)
2. Sign Language by Viggo Mortenson (His books are available on Amazon now! When did that happen?)
3. Coincidence of Memory also by Viggo (I really love his photographs)
4. Dorthy Parker. Anything she's ever written.
5. The audio cd set of The Silmarillion (I embrace my nerdom)
6. A subscription to Midwifery Today magazine. (I want it so bad, but it's just too expensive)
Two of my friends have now mentioned selling me into slavery instead of getting a summer job. I told them I might just do it for something on this list. Wheee!
