This post has been brewing in my head for quite a while now. There are certain people on LJ who have (with or without their knowledge) helped me change my world view for the better. These are people I have never met in real life, but they have opened me up to knew ideas or reminded me of old ones.

I'll explain more under the cut, but this is a big thank you to [livejournal.com profile] heartofslash, [livejournal.com profile] salixbabylon, [livejournal.com profile] telesilla, [livejournal.com profile] vejgurl, and [livejournal.com profile] willicus.

First off: [livejournal.com profile] willicus and I have known each other on the internet for ummm three years now? I don't know. It's been a long time. He is the only person from the world of the internet I have talked to in RL via phone and text messaging (something I never ever did until he started texting me.) Will has the uncanny ability to call or text when I am feeling a little blue. He has a delightful habit of drunk dialing me and leaving me the most AWESOME text messages. Seriously? Life is better for having met him over at Diagon Alley when we were both under aged perverted Harry Potter fans.

[livejournal.com profile] vejgurl (Dayna)is also someone I met through DA. She [livejournal.com profile] scarah2 have both helped teach me how to get the fuck over myself and the internet. They are both incredibly smart. Dayna made all the mods over at DA house hats and my Hufflepuff hat keeps me warm in the winter and makes me smile like an idiot when someone recognizes what it is.

[livejournal.com profile] heartofslash is my internet wife. We were wed in the comments of one of her fics. Our groomsmen wore tight pants and nothing but unscented oil on top. It was beautiful. In all seriousness though she inspired me to start writing again. The world never saw most of what came out of the creative burst that happened after I met her, but it felt so good to be creating again and I am forever in her debt for unknowingly giving me that gift.

[livejournal.com profile] salixbabylon has been a gem. She is taking her life in the direction she wants it to go and has been an inspiration to me. I can't tell you how her comments have helped me accept pieces of myself. Almost every time I've had an "oh fuck" moment that made it onto LJ she has dropped a comment with insight that just hit dead on. I really want to get to know her better.

[livejournal.com profile] telesilla is someone I hardly know at all. I read her fics avidly and her meta posts are always spot on. She is politically aware and smart. But last fall I was in a pretty bad place thinking that there was something horribly wrong with me that I couldn't put a finger on. I wanted something but couldn't name it and really had no idea what the fuck it was about. During that time I came across one of her fics. It literally opened my eyes and changed the way I looked at myself. You don't find that often when reading a work-in-progress internet fic. It gave me a lot to think about it but now I have really come to terms with myself and that part of me. You don't get a chance to tell most authors that they have helped change your life. How awesome is LJ?

In other news: MONDAY I CAN LEGALLY DRINK! Take a drink and think of me if you have the chance.

*loffs on you hardcore* I'll probably email you later this week. *hugs*

That's not a bad description of the wedding, but let's keep the intimate details of the honeymoon secret.

That was a creative burst? Shucks, I thought it was afterglow. I'll have to lick harder next time.

Seriously, though (and I am capable of that from time to time) and inspiration I've given you has been my pleaure and honour and your feedback and beta-ing has always fuelled the fire and I hope we're in this marvellous spiral of creative lust for a long, long time.

*smoooooooooooooooooch*

You'll get your birthday pressie soon.

You rock my world. In so many ways. Especially because your default icon has Eric Bana's naked bum. Because that makes my day so much brighter. *smooches back*

Happy Birthday, Susan. I think it's fitting in a post where you're talking about LJers who've changed your life for the better, to tell you that you've made the online world a better, more lovely place for a lot of us.

Happy turning 21, however you celebrated it (whether with a party, a certain Captain of the Enterprise, or in Middle Earth). And if you feel your ears burning tomorrow night, that'll be me making a raunchy toast to you. :P *kiss*

Oh, thank you. It means a lot to me that you feel that way. You have always amazed me with the way you accept people into your worlds and fandoms with open arms. You are the awesome.

Hello! You're going to look at this comment and say, "Who the hell is this person?" but I'm leaving it anyway. I'm a friend of the lovely [livejournal.com profile] elvensorceress, and she said that everyone should head over here and shower you with affection for your birthday. And since I'll do whatever Jenwyn tells me to do, here I am!

So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
