The President of Pakistan was on the Daily Show a couple of days ago. How fucking awesome is that?

I've read four books in the last month, two of which have drastically reaffirmed/altered my outlook on life. I'm kind of looking at my emotional and spiritual lives and how they connect with the people around me. Who do I let hurt me? Who do I miss? Who helps me find perspective? How do I facilitate or hinder all of these things? What am I not letting myself learn? Growing can be painful or wonderful. Often both. While the curve is slow at the moment, I am making progress becoming the person I want to and will become.

Also, I want you all to delight in the wonder that is this picture:

Why yes, that would be Eric Bana in leather. I hope it cheered your day as much as it cheered mine.

The funniest thing was when he was put in the Seat of Heat, and was asked who the Pakistani people liked better, Osama or Duhbya. He replied "ME!" :) That made me smile.

Lately, I've been in love with the fact that life is all about learning. You learn about yourself, you learn about the world, and the other people in it. You learn that you are capable of so many amazing things. And you learn who and what you love. All amazing, affirming stuff. :)

*hugs*

John Stewart looked so happy to have him as a guest. It was totally awesome.

Someone said to me once "life is constntly adjusting your expectations." It's so true.

Last Saturday, I was stopped at a red light in Dallas because the caravan with the Pakastan President was rolling through. He stayed the night at The Mansion on Turtle Creek. They had cops stationed at every corner for a mile radius.

Who was it that called Dubya the devil? One of the South American pres-es? I forget which one. But that was highly amusing.

Books are good. You're weird.

And he looks like a rapist or a killer or something in that pic. Probably both.
V. creepy.

It was Venezuelan President Chavez. It was a pretty awesome speech.

Books are good. I'm also weird, but I'm not sure which part in particular you find weird about this one.

Intensity =/= rapist. Just for the record.

The Red Tent, Vaginal Politics: A Midwife's Story, and one of the Dossie Easton/Janet Hardy books. I really really liked The Red Tent and I think you might as well.

Doesn't he look like he belongs in the back room of a club making someone a very happy camper? Made me think of you and of Jen's "Life, Love and Leather." Good times.

OOoh, yes. I read the Red Tent a long time ago and really enjoyed it. Really interesting ideas of what pre-Biblical sexuality was like, especially for women. SAd, but thought-provoking.

I'll have to check the other ones out too. :)
